Apart from the appointment dates, people seeking advice and assistance could visit the Board’s information service in person daily from
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or contact the information service by telephone at the Vienna number 01/515 05 ext. 100.
In addition, a toll-free service number (0800/223 223) with directdial option to all extensions was set up on September 14, 2001.

Of the total of 8 571 telephone and personal contacts with the information service, 3 906 regarded administration.
The AOB was not competent to deal with the remaining 4 665
cases, which concerned mainly civil-law problems among private
individuals. The largest number of these problems regarded family-law problems, mainly in connection with divorces and the consequences of divorces such as maintenance, child custody and
visiting rights regulations.
