54 annual report 2010 On 16 December 2010, the Copenhagen City Court pronounced judgment in relation to 250 of those detained. The Court stated that the detention was illegal and that conditions for 178 people had contravened Article 3 of the European Human Rights Convention, which prohibits torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. The prosecution appealed the judgment and the case is still pending at the High Court.
