In Austria there are currently about 7,000 rehabilitation places for adults, but not a single family-oriented children and youths rehabilitation facility exists. As the health of children is an issue that cuts across numerous areas, dealing with it in a way that makes political sense requires a bundling of resources, responsibility and knowledge from the areas of health, social welfare, and education, as well as the legal and human sciences. Health policies for children and youth are nextgeneration policies in the most positive sense of the word.
