27. At its 39th Ordinary Session, held from 11 to 25 May 2006 in Banjul, The Gambia, the African Commission considered the Communication and decided to be seized thereof. 28. On 14 August 2006, the Secretariat received the arguments on Admissibility from both parties. By Note Verbale, dated 16 August 2006, the Secretariat forwarded the AC HP R 29. Complainants‟ submissions on Admissibility to the Respondent State and sent the latter‟s submissions in Arabic for translation. 30. At the African Commission‟s 40th Ordinary Session, held from 15 to 29 November 2006, in Banjul, The Gambia, both parties made oral submissions on Admissibility. 31. At the 40th Ordinary Session of the African Commission, held from 15 to 29 November 2006, in Banjul, The Gambia, the African Commission declared the Communication Admissible, and both parties were informed accordingly. 32. By letter dated 15 February 2007, the Complainants requested an extension of time to submit on the Merits of the Communication, and the request was granted. 33. By Note Verbale dated 15 March 2007, the Embassy of Egypt also requested an extension of time to submit on the Merits of the Communication. The request was granted by Note Verbale dated 19 March 2007. 8
