In accordance with article 15 of the Optional Protocol, the Subcommittee requests the Togolese authorities to ensure, by way of inspections and instructions given to persons responsible for places of detention, that no reprisals shall occur as a result of its visit. The Subcommittee requests the State party to provide detailed information on the steps it has taken to avert and prevent reprisals against the personnel and detainees that met with the delegation. 122. The Subcommittee reminds the State party that the preliminary observations represent only the first stage of a constructive and cooperative dialogue with the Togolese authorities, with a view to finding solutions together to the aforementioned challenges.
