Provisions related to Reproductive Rights
According to Paragraph 21, “The right to self-determination and
consent regarding health care of older women are not always
respected. Social services, including provisions for long term care,
for older women might be disproportionately reduced when public
expenditure is cut. Postmenopausal, post-reproductive and age-
related physical and mental health conditions and diseases tend to
be neglected in research, academic studies, public policy and s ervice
provision. Information on sexual health, HIV and AIDS is rarely
provided in a form that is acceptable, accessible and appropriate for
older women.”
