This means that the AOB is the smallest supreme body of the Republic of Austria. With part-time staff, persons working reduced weekly hours, internships and staff posted from other local and regional authorities, 90 persons are working at the AOB on average. The 56 members (2015: 54) of the six commissions as well as the 34 members and substitute members of the Human Rights Advisory Council do not count as AOB staff members. 1.3 Focal points 2016 Police training AOB implements police training module 20 Future police officers will be informed about the work of the AOB as part of their police training from 2017. The implementation of this new training module was agreed on by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the AOB, and initiated. AOB staff and members of the NPM commissions will explain the responsibilities and tasks of the AOB and the NPM in detail in a four-hour training unit in the future. Information about the work of the AOB is important because the police are often confronted with the activities of the AOB. Early information about the work of the AOB should help reduce scepticism and reservations and promote a positive atmosphere between the police and the AOB.
