Psychiatric institutions In the 2019 report of the National Preventive Mechanism, the Public Defender of Georgia issued 19 recommendations and 1 proposal for the prevention of ill-treatment in psychiatric institutions. 18 of them were reflected in the resolution of the Parliament of Georgia and the relevant tasks were given to the state agencies. 11 The proposal to the Parliament of Georgia was implemented. One recommendation to the Government of Georgia has been partly implemented. The report reviews the situation in penitentiary establishments and presents the findings of the 2019 report of the National Preventive Mechanism of the Public Defender.12 The Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) positively assessed the activities of the National Preventive Mechanism of the Public Defender of Georgia and posted a video13 of the activities of the Mechanism on its social networks.
