In 2022, 25 judges took part in a seminar on "Vulnerable

the peculiarities of communication". The seminar focused
on the following topics: "Mental health, biopsychosocial
paradigm of mental health. The provisions of the
United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons
with Disabilities and their practical implementation",
"Social and Human Rights Models of Disability. Personcentred approach, personal recovery paradigm", "Needs
and support of persons with mental health problems
and mental disorders experiencing different states",
"Psychosocial disability and psychological distress. Crisis
management and de-escalation techniques for acute
psychological distress" and "Legal capacity and its
realisation. The decision support model as a standard for
human rights“.90
Unlike judges, probation officers do not receive
any special training or training on how to deal and
communicate with persons with intellectual and/or
psychosocial disabilities or diagnoses of mental health
problems. However, as indicated by the institution
itself, in some cases the Training Centre of the Prison
Department of the Republic of Lithuania organises
training events on similar topics, which may be attended
by the officials of the Probation Service.91
