During the visits it was verified that these services were not up and running in the Algeciras and Tarifa centres, although they collaborate with volunteers from the CARDIJN Association, a non-profit organisation. In the case of the Algeciras CIE, the absence of social workers is especially serious with regard to women, given they represent a significant percentage of potential victims of human trafficking, or due to their needs for international protection. The Administration has reported that social and cultural services are provided in CIE in Madrid and Barcelona through the Red Cross, with plans to expand service provision to the remaining CIE throughout 2016.
