The Forensic Examination Team
Potential conflicts of interest should be
avoided in the selection of team members.
A conflict of interest is understood to
exist when professional judgement
concerning the examination might be
unduly influenced by a secondary interest.
Examples of conflict of interest are
•
Relatives or friends of the alleged
victim
•
Previous public declarations of
personal opinions related to the case
or the alleged victim
•
Previous formal hierarchical
relationship with the alleged victim.
