ACHPR/37/OS/11/437 7 delegation, however, had many very useful discussions with relevant Ministers, Governors of Provinces, the Officers in Charge of prisons, and the staff of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization at various prisons. The authorities put at the disposal of the delegation all the necessary facilities for the smooth running of the mission. The Special Rapporteur appreciated the spirit and manner in which the authorities took note of the immediate observations she made concerning the prisons and detention centres the delegation visited in Cameroon. The Special Rapporteur wishes to acknowledge the commitment and the spirit of openness of the Government of Cameroon to improve the conditions of prisoners/detainees in the country.
